The Majestic’s mission is to provide affordable, accessible events that educate, entertain, and inspire the Gunnison Valley. Since reopening as a nonprofit cinema just over three years ago, we’ve stayed committed to that promise—and now we’re asking for your help to keep it going.

    We think of the Majestic as Crested Butte’s living room — a space to unwind, connect, and be part of something bigger than yourself. Your gift helps ensure we can continue welcoming everyone through our doors.

    Since reopening as a nonprofit in September 2022, we have:

  • hosted over 250 free events, open to anyone in the community, including new Majestic series such as Sci-Fridays, Western Wednesdays, and Subtitled Sundays
  • established $5 Tuesday as a way to give locals a break on ticket prices in our off-seasons
  • created and adapted our rental program, allowing the Majestic to host much more than just new Hollywood movies
  • provided affordable private rentals for everything from birthday parties to memorials and date nights
  • produced low-cost movie nights and fundraisers for countless local organizations and businesses
  • expanded accessibility by adding assisted-listening and closed-caption devices and introducing weekly open-caption showings
  • all while never once raising our ticket prices!
